Prayer FAQ

Who do I pray to?

The traditions of Christianity are an extension of the covenants made with Abraham as outlined in the Hebrew Bible (what many Christians call the Old Testament).

Through Jesus Christ, a direct decent Abraham, we are offered access to pray to YHWH (the Hebrew word for God). By his death on the cross, Jesus brings redemption and access to the Father for all who believe.

So we too can pray to the one true God, that is above all other gods.

We believe that God reveals himself as ONE. Yet exists in three ways: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

So when we pray this is who we direct our prayers to: God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

What do I pray?

We suggest that you start with Thanksgiving. Thanking God for what you do have and that he has a plan for your life.

Then share prayers you might have for other people. Health, protection, or salvation; God want to partner with you to see his work in the life of other people.

Finally, share your own thoughts with God. What are your struggles, what are your successes, God desires to hear from you daily.

When and where do I pray?

Paul wrote a letter to the Thessalonians reminding them to, ” Pray without ceasing.”

If pray is weaved continually throughout your day, prayer should be anywhere and everywhere.

In the morning, at meals, with friends, at work or school. It could be in your car, while you exercise, or before you fall to sleep at night. The options are really limitless.

Why should I pray?

This one is a bit more complex than the other FAQs. Most people start with their own needs and desires; which isn’t a wrong reason to pray, but if that is all you come to God for, you are missing out on so much more.

God wants to be in your life, not just a part of your life. We should pray because we truly desire to have God’s will in every aspect of our life’s journey. He wants to lead you, guide you, and use you for big things. Prayer is our avenue to build a relationship with the greatest friend we could ever have, our own creator!

How do I pray?

God is all knowing and already knows you in the most intimate ways. We suggest that you pray from your heart, like you would talk to a friend.

Sharing your hurts, your pain, your doubts; and also your successes, your excitement, and celebrations.
